Dr Brian Ho graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong in 2006. He completed his Urology training at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong, where he obtained his Fellowship in Urology from the Hong Kong College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2014.

To further his specialist training, Dr Ho completed an observership at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York under the tutelage of Dr Guido Dalbagni in 2016, acquiring in-depth knowledge in managing bladder cancer patients. Dr Ho also studied under Professor Zeng Guohua at The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University in 2017 to attain proficiency in miniaturized PCNL and help bring the SMP (SuperMiniPCNL) system to Hong Kong.

From 2016 to 2025, Dr Ho treated a wide variety of urology patients initially as an Associate Consultant and then subsequently as a Consultant at Queen Mary Hospital. The spectrum of diseases ranges from benign prostate hyperplasia to complex renal stones to advanced urological cancers to renal transplantation.

Besides providing service to patients in need, Dr Brian Ho has an interest in research and innovative technology. He has been involved in multiple international multicenter trials and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and abstracts in international and regional journals.  Dr Ho was also one of the principal investigators in the MT-02 study on the innovative iTIND (implantable Temporary Nitinol Device) in the treatment of BPH.  In addition, Dr Ho helped bring PUL (prostatic urethral lift) into the Medical Device program of the Hospital Authority in Hong Kong.

Working in the university-affiliated Queen Mary Hospital gave Dr Ho the opportunity to provide training to the next generation of medical doctors especially those in the subspecialty of Urology.  He has been the course director for the joint HKU / ESUT Masterclass in Laparoscopic Urological Surgery – Animal Dissection Workshop from 2018 to 2022 and is interested in promoting training in minimally invasive surgery in young, aspiring urologists.

Dr Ho has multiple appointments including an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Hong Kong, an editorial board member of the Hong Kong Medical Journal, an Honorary Secretary of the Hong Kong Urological Association, and a previous Committee Member of the Youth Section of the Urological Association of Asia.

His special interests are benign prostate hyperplasia treatment, robotic surgery for urological cancers, renal stones, and renal transplantation.
